Special Thanks

• To Hannah Lemke and her family for providing Nursery Care on Sunday mornings, February 25 and March 4.

• To Lousie Mollinger for teaching our Church School children, along with the congregation, how to sign their lesson in American Sign Language. What a sweet way to help us remember these ancient words, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.

• To Heidi Bertler and Rhonda Thompson for serving as Parent Drivers and Helpers for our February Confirmation Class Adventure to St. Benedict's in Milwaukee.

• To the Fellowship Team for hosting our annual Mardi Gras Pancake Dinner.

Congratulations

• To Cameryn Jorelle Jagow, daughter of Caitlin Zozakiewicz and Andy Jagow, who was baptized into the Christian faith on Sunday, February 18.

• To Emeri Leigh Bley, daughter of Mildred and Matthew, who was baptized into the Christian faith on Sunday, February 18.

• To Charlotte Rose Willis, daughter of Shannon and Bill, who was baptized into the Christian faith on Sunday, February 11.

LENTEN REFLECTION AND COMMUNION

Each Thursday evening during the church season of Lent, February 22, March 18, 15 and 22, Jeff will be conducting a time of Silent Reflection and Prayer followed by the celebration of Holy Communion.  We will gather in the sanctuary from 6:00 to 6:30.  Please help spread the word!

LENTEN STUDY LEAVE FOR JEFF

Jeff Suddendorf will be gone for his annual study leave March 5 – March 11. He will once again be traveling to the Holy Cross Monastery in Santa Barbara, California. Jeff first visited the monastery in the winter of 1986. This will be his twentieth study retreat to Santa Barbara. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

CHURCH SCHOOL AND FAMILY SERVICES

Our Church School meets one Sunday each month at 10:00. We also celebrate a Family Service each month at 10:00. All children 4K through 7th grade are invited to participate.  The next Church School Sunday is this coming Sunday, March 11. The next Family Service is Sunday, March 18.

SOUP AND SALAD DINNER

The Fellowship Team will be hosting another Soup and Salad Dinner on Wednesday evening, March 14, from 5:30 - 7:00, in Fellowship Hall. This is a wonderful opportunity to gather with others and enjoy a meal at church. Please bring your favorite soup and/or dessert to share!

MISSION GIVING IN 2017

Last year our church contributed over $28,000 to projects and programs beyond our church. Click here for an accounting of our mission giving for 2017.

STILLSPEAKING DAILY DEVOTIONAL

The United Church of Christ offers a free Daily Devotional as part of the national UCC website. If you are interested in a short but inspiring message to begin your day, you may register to have the devotional sent right to your email or mobile device. Just click here to register!

DONATE A SUITCASE

Family Promise is looking for suitcases for those in need. Click here for more information. Suitcases can be dropped off in the church entryway.

NURSERY

Each Sunday morning during the 10:00 service, we provide a nursery for children newborn through 4-years-old. Care is provided by our 8th grade Confirmation students and their families. Parents are required to register their children, and to sign their children in and out of the nursery. We want to do our very best to make the nursery a safe and secure environment.

WEDNESDAY LUNCH AT CHURCH

Each Wednesday at Noon, you are invited to meet Jeff at church for lunch and Bible study. The group always takes time to visit before reflecting upon the lectionary reading for the upcoming Sunday. Coffee is always provided, but please bring your own lunch.

MEN’S BREAKFAST

Men in the church are invited to gather for breakfast every Thursday morning, at 8:00, at the Dockside Deli. The group often has fun considering a Question of the Day. If you are able, please come and join the conversation.

YOGA AT CHURCH

A gentle yoga class is held in Fellowship Hall every Wednesday evening from 5:15 - 6:15. The cost is $10 per class. For more information, please contact Susan Niederfrank at susanniederfrank@gmail.com.

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

An AA Group meets at our church every Sunday afternoon at 3:00. For more information, please contact the church office.

GLUTEN FREE COMMUNION

We continue to offer a gluten-free option for receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion. The gluten-free communion bread is purchased commercially, and prepared separately, so that there is no chance of contact with our regular sourdough communion bread.

MISSED CHURCH?

If you wonder what you missed, CDs of the service are always available in the church office.
