A new church program year begins this coming Sunday morning, September 12. We celebrate with two services at 8:00 and 10:00. On the fourth Sunday of every month at 10:00, we celebrate with a Family Service which includes the participation of our children and youth. Nursery care is available at the 10:00 service.

Masks are required inside the church at this time, regardless of vaccination status.

To help celebrate the start of the program year, the Fellowship Team will be hosting Fellowship Hour this coming Sunday morning, September 12, following both the 8:00 and 10:00 services. They will utilize the outside patio.

There will be a Fellowship Hour following our 8:00 service on the first Sunday of each month (starting October 3), and following our 10:00 services on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.

Our Church School program begins this coming Sunday morning, September 12, at 10:00. All children 4K through 7th grade are invited to participate! The theme for the month of September is the Creation Story. Please plan to come a few minutes early to register your children. The plan is to have the children gather inside and then head outside for various activities.

Church School meets on the second Sunday of each month at 10:00. We also celebrate a Family Service on the fourth Sunday of each month at 10:00. The first Family Service of the program year is on Sunday morning, September 26. The overall program continues to be planned and organized by our Church School Leadership Team. They welcome interested parents and church members to join the team!

Are you interested in joining our church? You are invited to stay after church this coming September 12 and again on September 19 for two informational classes with Pastor Scott, plus an opportunity to meet some of our church leaders and church members. On September 12 we will gather at 11:15 to spend some time getting to know one another, learning a little about the United Church of Christ; its history and traditions. On September 19 we will learn a little about our local church’s history and our current ministry; the variety of ways that we have put our faith into action in the past and now in the present. Both classes will be held in the Dennett Room (off Fellowship Hall). On September 26 all those who would like to join the church will do so during the 10:00 worship service (right alongside Pastor Scott who is joining the church too!). So, please plan to attend if you would like to join or, for those of you who are already members, feel free to participate if you would like a little "refresher" on our church's past and present ministry.

The Wednesday Lunch Group will be starting up again after its summer hiatus at noon on September 15. Everyone is invited to join the group as we meet together in Marquardt Fellowship Hall, bring our own beverage and lunch, and discuss the Bible passages that will be used in worship for the coming Sunday morning. You don’t need to be a Bible expert to participate! Pastor Scott provides some thought provoking questions and leads the discussion. The conversation is always interesting, there is usually lots of laughter and the sharing of individual opinions and perspectives. We’d love to hear your thoughts! So make the Wednesday Lunch Group a part of your weekly schedule - you’ll be glad you did!

Every Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m., a dedicated group of gentlemen from the church gather at The Beacon restaurant, which is located downtown on the first floor of The Harborview hotel. The Thursday Morning Men’s Breakfast Group is open to all the men of the church. Everyone places their own order and pays their own bill. It is a great way to spend an hour (or two) and begin your day. You are welcome to join the group at any time!

Our Justice Team is planning a study series for this Fall, based on the UCC-developed curriculum "Sacred Conversations to End Racism". The 8-week series will be held in Fellowship Hall on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 September 14th through November 2nd. Please contact Beckie in the Church Office to reserve your spot!

Every year, members and friends of our church participate in charitable fundraising events (walks, runs, bike rides, etc.) helping to raise thousands of dollars for a variety of worthy causes. As a church community, we support these efforts by contributing $100 per event from our Local Mission Fund.

If you are planning to participate in one of these fundraisers, please complete and submit the Charitable Fundraiser Contribution Request form.

Our Sunday worship services will continue to be recorded each week; if you would like to view the service as soon as it is uploaded, be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel ("First Congregational Church of Port Washington"). This allows you to receive immediate notification.

AA Group meets at our church every Sunday afternoon at 3:00. For more information, please contact the church office.
